SICKNESS
If your child is unwell and cannot attend school
please ring us before 9.30 a.m.
If we do not know why your child is absent they may be shown as having an unauthorised absence !
Always follow up an absence with a note to the teacher.
Some illnesses are contagious and children are not allowed in school until they are completely well. Contagious illness include things like conjunctivitis, head lice, chicken pox, flu etc. If you are not sure, check with your doctor.
If your child is not well while in school we will contact you to collect them. Always make sure that your contact details are up to date !
If your child has any allergies or requires treatment for a more serious ailment (i.e. diabetes) please make sure that we know about it.
Children are not allowed to bring medicine into school to administer to themselves. If your child needs medicine see the office staff who will ask you to fill in a form giving permission for them to give your child the medicine.
School Nurses (From Wickford Clinic)
School Nurses attend the school regularly holding 'drop in' sessions. You can call in and see them with any questions you have relating to yourself or your child. See the Calender page to find out when they are here next.
In addition, the nurses come into school to carry out health checks from time to time on various year groups. You will be informed if this is about to happen.
